Come on in and have a seat, we're glad to have you here! We have been pretty busy here rearranging, sorting, tagging and moving our inventory to our new storage building. It has been a lot of hard work but we are definitely getting our house back in order. I couldn't wait for this day to come and now that it is here I am so thrilled to have my home back, now to remodeling the house.
We have come a long way since our flea market days, I was quite surprised to see how much we had collected. It didn't seem like that much until we started to get everything under one roof and in one room, oh my how did we get this much. So we are going to be quite busy listing lots of items.

We will be listing between our eBay store and our TabJuice Store on Facebook. Our TabJuice store is on our The Tool Recyclers Page1, just click on The Tool Recyclers Page1 and then on Shop Now when you get on that page, it is quite easy to maneuver and set up, we have quite a bit listed here and have had luck with it. If this is something you are interested in just check the apps on Facebook or you can click on TabJuice in our store or go to TabJuice.com to check it out. This is a free app so why not give it a try!

Hello everyone on this crisp winter morning, started out the day at 2:00am with the temperature at 0 and watched it as it fell to -3 degrees with the windchill making it feel like -9. But I'm happy to report it is now 10:20am and the temperature is up to 5 degrees and the sun is shining and reflecting off the newly fallen snow we received over the last few days!!!!
I think we all got spoiled with the winter we were having thus far with the 40+ degrees it was such a weird winter we forgot that eventually it would be here and when it did come it hit with a vengence. Looking out the window and seeing how pretty it is with the snow glistening of the trees and bushes, reminds me of how spring will be here in a few months and everything will be washed anew and starting over again through it's cycle. So with the colder weather I have decided to hibernate the winter away and to concentrate more on the business at hand.
I feel like I'm starting over again with The Tool Recyclers and what better way to start over then to share with everyone !!! Started looking at everything in Virtual Online Learning again to refresh my memory and put what I learned into action. I couldn't think of a better way to start over then with all the archived classes with Danna (The Power Selling Mom) I learned so much from her and the rest of the members. I felt right at home remembering everything she had taught us. I was sure I had forgotten most of it but was surprised as I watched the videos and it all came rushing back to me. I want to Thank Danna for being such a great teacher and such a fabulous person ! What would I have done without her and her classes, I really couldn't tell you that's how fantastic I feel Virtual Online Learning is! You can check it out here virtualonlinelearning.com . I know if I have any questions that there a lot of people there to guide me on my way ! What a wonderful place to learn and socialize!!! Thank-you all at Virtual Online Learning!!!
Check it out you won't be sorry, I'm not!

It's that time of year again, the Holiday season is upon us once again.
With the hustle and bustle of shoppers trying to get the best deals possible!!!! Thanksgiving is only a few days away and people are finding that this years Thanksgiving feast has risen in cost and will be making cuts as to their normal Thanksgiving meal. There are ways around the increase of the cost this year such as a bring and share a dish, or even making more homemade recipes rather then buying ready made foods.

As family and friends gather to give thanks, let us not forget the less fortunate that will not be celebrating Thanksgiving this year. Some may be going to soup kitchens to celebrate and will be appreciative of whatever their meal offers!!! Many people will give up part of their celebration to help those less fortunate, they will help at soup kitchens or at places like The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities and many other such places that serve Thanksgiving meals.

Let us not forget our Military that will not be home to celebrate Thanksgiving with their families. Many are thousands of miles away from home fighting for our country to keep us safe and free !!!!!
My daughter and my son-in law (also a soldier) are adopting a soldier for Thanksgiving so he/she has a place to go rather then staying at the fort alone for the Holiday!!!!!

Let us give thanks for our military who have given up so much so we can remain free and safe!!!!!!

Well I have to go and make homemade pumpkin pies, apple pies for Thanksgiving !!!!!
Sending wishes for a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!! From all of us here at The Tool Recyclers!!!

I have many things to be thankful for, I am thankful the most for my loving and caring family and friends!!!!!
I thank the Creator everyday for all he has given me!!!!!!THE TOOL RECYCLERShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15856072658471916535noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8230929975275753764.post-83910439747164009942011-09-15T12:06:00.000-04:002011-09-15T12:06:53.919-04:00THE TOOL RECYCLERS: Two of the Reasons I Support Cancer !!!!THE TOOL RECYCLERS: Two of the Reasons I Support Cancer !!!!THE TOOL RECYCLERShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15856072658471916535noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8230929975275753764.post-14924174478375219042011-09-15T10:43:00.002-04:002011-09-15T12:02:39.991-04:00Two of the Reasons I Support Cancer !!!!

Welcome to The Tool Recyclers

I see it has been a while since we last visited, come on in and make yourself at home!!!!

We have had ourselves a pretty busy year taking care of family illness. Our year started the same way it left off with my mother being ill and in and out of the hospital between having double pneumonia and then a series of heart attacks. She is recovering now and is feeling quite a bit better, but she gave us all quite a scare. We are now waiting for more testing to see if the breast cancer has returned ( I pray it hasn't,as she has been through so much in her lifetime) she has been cancer free for 20 years and I'm hoping that what they saw is the scarring from the pacemaker/defibrillator she had to have this year. While talking to her she said she's not going to worry about it because she doesn't feel there is anything wrong like she did the first time she was told she had breast cancer and then 6 months later when she was told she had uterine cancer. She told me then what she has told me through everything this year she was going to be around for very long time, (she keeps telling me at least 90 but she's really shooting for 100 ). She sure is one tough cookie!!!!
She has put all her faith in the Lord and she says he will see her through, just like the last time!!!!!
Cancer in any form can and does affect the whole family, not just the person that has been diagnosed. The many emotions that run through the families can take a toll. Let alone the financial aspects of this horrible disease, some insurances cover certain aspects but what is left over is up to the family to pay (out of pocket cost) it can drain your savings and you still may not be able to pay for all the treatments. I knew of someone who refused the treatments for his cancer because he could not afford them I do not have to tell you the outcome, he said to me even with the treatments there is no guarantee that they will work, so why should I leave such a heavy burden on my family? He was a very loving husband and father, he left behind a wife and four young children. In his mind he was doing the right thing, the only thing that bothered him was he wasn't going to see his children grow up or be there when they needed the support of their dad!!!!! His only comfort was that he wasn't going to leave them with a financial burden that even he couldn't afford!!!!!!

This is only a couple of my experiences with this dreadful disease, I have others but these are 2 of them that hit really close to the heart!!!!
I admire my mother for being who she is and not letting things take her strength away and her deep belief in The Creator as she says he is the only one that knows when your time is up!!!!

I also admired my Uncle for his love to his family and stepping up to help mom raise us after our father had died, Uncle Jim I will never forget your sacrifices for your family, I love you even though you are no longer with us physically I know you are still with us spiritually!!!!!!THE TOOL RECYCLERShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15856072658471916535noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8230929975275753764.post-83925349168630583562010-11-19T00:34:00.000-05:002010-11-19T00:34:02.787-05:00Pictures of Our Gardens Welcome to The Tool Recyclers Blog
Our garden is also done with recycled plants. We call it our recycled garden because a lot of the plants came from our son-in-law when he was redoing his landscaping and was going to throw the plants out. We decided that we could use them to expand our gardens and couldn't stand the idea of throwing such beautiful plants away, the journey began as Gil dug the plants out and loaded them into our truck and brought them home. We had been talking about expanding our garden before this and it just happened to work out for us. Our garden expanded bigger then we had anticipated and we love it. We enjoy sitting out and looking at the garden during the nice weather and during the winter months we long for the spring to watch everything come back up and brighten our yard. We also buy clearance plants and put them into our garden, quite a few of these plants are really on their last leg and ready to be thrown out. But we bring them home and give them lots of TLC,they bounce back into such gorgeous plants and flowers.
He has done remarkable work with less then perfect materials and I am in awe of him building this from a vision in his head.I guess this is no different then me making jewelry or doing bead work or crafting parts and pieces from a vision I or any craft person have.
More pictures of the new building!!!!
This Blog is about my favorite spot on the net, VirtualOnlineLearning.com , I love this site I have learned so much from the virtual classes I have attended then I would have been able to searching on my own. What I like the best is that I can watch the replay if I have any questions when trying to use what I have learned. Being a Lifetime member is great I always know if I have a question there is always help close by. Everyone there is so helpful and patient. Danna has so much knowledge to share and does it in such a way that you can't wait to try what she has taught you. Danna is a special person who loves helping everyone and truly enjoys and loves what she does.

Fall Reflections

by Caroline A Ward

As I sit and watch the children play
I think of all the yesterdays
Of climbing trees
Being so carefree
Oh how we'd run
We had so much fun
We'd run and dance
Through all the grass
Oh how we thought, it would last
Now it's all in our past
With imaginations going wild
Oh how I miss being a child
Once again the Holiday Season is fast approaching. This holiday season will be harder then most with the economy the way it is. But for some the season is not that of joy or peace on earth. While many are shopping gleefully planning their big holiday celebration.Others are wondering where their next meal will be coming from and if they will have safe refuge from the bitter cold that comes with the season. There are many that have been homeless and even more that have been left homeless as the economy has taken its toll.

Men, women and children have lost so much through this recession, jobs, homes, and families torn apart because of the stress put upon them not knowing where to turn for much needed help. There are many places that can offer help this season such as the Dept.of Social Services,Rescue Mission. There are churches like the Salvation Army,Catholic Charities and many others that offer aid to those less fortunate.

So this Holiday season let's remember those that have lost so much and give to help them have a Happy Holiday also. I know you say give but everyone has had a rough time through this recession, we all have something we can do, like volunteering at a kitchen, holding a coat drive for used coats or collecting blankets, mittens, hats, scarves to hand out to those that do not have these necessities to stay warm. You could hold a food drive for non-perishable foods to donate to a food pantry or volunteer at the food pantry to help give out food. You could also do a boot drive for good used boots or even socks, there are lots of things that can be done to help out this Holiday Season and the rewards are even greater seeing the smiles and the thankfulness in someones eyes that you just helped, there is something about seeing the hope return to their faces knowing they are not alone and there are people that care!!!!!
Fear
by Caroline A Ward

The whispers of war is near
But no one can hear
The fear
That is kept inside
Because of our pride
We'll stand strong
To show all that are wrong
We'll fight
For what is right
Our nation has been attacked
So now we must fight back
Our freedoms to uphold
We are told
Will not fold
Our nation holds on tight
As we all unite
We fight the fear
No one can hear
Although we know that war is nearTHE TOOL RECYCLERShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15856072658471916535noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8230929975275753764.post-17094389435108663012010-11-01T08:21:00.001-04:002010-11-01T08:28:03.169-04:00Welcome To The Tool Recyclers

WardIn this blog I am going to share one of the poems I wrote, normally I don't share these writings with anyone but family. I guess that I have always been a little afraid to share some of my thoughts that I randomly write down. I was asked a few years back to write book of poetry but I never did because of being to shy to let people read something that I wrote.

Here are more pic's of the storage building that Gil (my other half) is building in our back yard. The building is 17x40 on the bottom and second floor is 20x40. Can't wait for this to be done!!!! I am going to put more pic's of the building on this blog. This is the building that we are building on a budget. I am so impressed with my other half, he has done this by himself and I have been watching and at times he really scared me putting the top floor up especially. Well here we go I am going to start the pic's now:

You can build a storage building on a low budget with unwanted or recycled materials. If you look around in the cities, towns, villages where you live I'll bet you'll find buildings being torn down and being thrown out. Why not ask if you could utilize some of the materials, there are some places that will let you take discarded lumber, windows, doors, bricks etc. at no or little cost.
It is a pole barn style building built from less then perfect poles being slightly crooked/twisted poles, slightly crooked or twisted 2x4's,6,8,10 and 12 pressure treated or not lumber.
In our case unwanted temporary stairs are now floor joists and block flooring.Don't forget to reuse the plastic film for protecting floors discarded after job completion for vapor barrier for under floors.

OSB sheathing which is lumber mill by products reused to make the sheathing. Windows and doors are lumber store returns or damaged products. We will also be using a recycled overhead garage door.
Bricks are used for patio or driveway paving. Don't forget about oops paint it can be utilized if color choice is an option it can be used as a base or primer paint use desired color over it,which less higher priced paint used. Also check the secondary market lumber stores for savings. As in hard economic times there are options to utilize limited monies!!!!

Will add more pic's of our storage building in next blog
This is our opinion, you may agree or disagree, that is your choice!!!!

As the owners of The Tool Recyclers,we have found that battery tools(cordless) do have their drawbacks. As the years of technology have increased to make better tools, it seems that the various tool companies that once stood behind their products, now stand in front of them. Let me explain what I mean by that statement, I will not use the name of the companies but will describe the colors of the tools.
First example will be a big yellow tool - where a battery charger had been recalled for a defect, the company said it would not have affected the batteries that were charged even though it had melted a brand new battery in it but they would replace 2 out of the 7 or 8 new batteries that had been charged leaving the owner of these batteries the cost to replace the rest as the defective charger did affect the brand new batteries. We have also found that the Lithium batteries that suppose to hold a charge for 18mths or longer. That are brand new come out of the package and the charger reads their defective as they had only one third of the voltage - apparently these batteries had sat on the shelf to long. This is two of the main problems we have found with these tools.
Another example would be the big red tools - where contractors depend on their tools in all kinds of conditions but if used in various conditions and they become defective, the batteries may or may not be covered by the warranty/guarantee because of wet conditions. Plumbers as an example would be out the batteries as most contractors buy tools because of reliability and the reputation of the tool. They depend on their tools to do the job for them in all kinds of conditions.
The next example would be the max voltage in a variety of the tool companies, where they advertise the tool at a higher voltage then the normal working voltage, since batteries are charged at a higher voltage and are actually discharged when they get to their nominal voltage. Ex: the 12Vmax is actually a 10.8V and is really no different tool or battery then the original.
Basically as we see it these above examples are the companies misleading the consumers as to what they are really buying. Read the fine print before buying, become educated in the tool companies factual manipulations.
Big businesses have made us consumers not re-users of durable high quality tools!!!!!

As our name indicates we recycle used unwanted tools from people who no longer have a need for them.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying we don't sell new tools because we do.The recycled tools is the main part of our business.
As technology evolved and reached the tool industry the older tools that our fathers, grandfathers and many generations before used became more obsolete to the younger generation and were being replaced with battery operated tools which were more convenient and easily stored. These new tools became more compact and are easier to take on jobs. Of course you have to have more then one charged battery with you or at least a car charger so you can charge one while using the other. But for the most part most people using battery operated tools have a variety of battery tools and the need for more batteries. Battery tools are are great for jobs where electricity is not available, but I still prefer the good old fashioned corded tool that I learned to use as a child, watching my father, grandfather, uncle etc... use and learned that taking care of your tools, your tools would take care of you for many years to come. I found the older tools to be more durable and performed exceptionally well when needed. I still use my old Grants circular saw and I wouldn't part with it for anything!! Now don't get me wrong, yes we do own battery operated tools also for the times that a corded tools are not able to be used. In the generations to come I bet they won't see any 150 year old working battery tools like my Stanley Levels and planes!!! I bet these (battery) tools will not be around when the good old fashioned ones are still working!!!!

This is our opinion, you may agree or disagree that is your choice!!!!
The leaves are changing into brilliant reds, oranges, yellows hues of delightful colors. This only means the changing of the seasons from brisk Autumn days to the bone chilling winds of old man Winter is not far off. Along with the changing leaves, comes the clean-up of the falling leaves indicating our fair warm weather is soon to come to an abrupt end.
Ahh to be a child again when fall clean-up meant piles of leaves to jump and romp and play in, when raking the leaves in piles didn't seem like work because we didn't mind raking them in order to have fun. The collecting of special leaves to dip in melted wax or press between wax paper and use as decorations was something we did as children at this time of year. These were special memories to cherish as we got older. Then we grew older and got wiser to the raking of all those beautiful brightly colored leaves. The work involved seemed endless and the blisters on our hands made us wonder why we enjoyed the season so much when we were younger.
Here at The Tool Recyclers it only means one thing it's Fall clean-up and preparing for winter. It's time for another year to come to an end and time to start preparing for the long cold days of winter that are ahead.
Well it's time to break out the rakes (don't forget the gloves), leaf blowers/vacuums/mulchers the ones that mulch those leaves to smitherines. How much easier it is now to clean up those yards then it was way back in our youth.
If you are one of the lucky communities all you have to do is rake/blow those leaves to the curb and they come around and pick them up.You should have a wheelbarrow to make those countless trips from the backyard not quite so bad. While others have the waste management trucks that take the leaves and yard waste, you'll need the cans(perferably the ones that have wheels) or bags to set them out to the curb. Don't forget to clean out the gutters, this can be done quite easily now you can purchase an attachment that fits on your blower/vacuum and safely clean it from the ground, no more ladders that can easily tip.
Or you can recycler those leaves like we do at The Tool Recyclers and reuse them in your gardens to protect your plants from the brutal winter cold. We use the blower/vacuum /mulcher for this and mulch the leaves before putting them on our gardens. The leaves are a great insulator when spread out in a nice thick blanket over your perinnials and bulbs.Plus it does help keep the squirrels away from those precious bulbs you so carefully planted in this fall for next years enjoyment.
They not only help by insulating the plants but they deteriorate and helps fertilize the gardens. The leaves also help by keeping the weeds down when spring clean-up comes and you are readying your garden to look it's best when in full bloom it sure saves alot of work.
If you are planning any additions for your gardens, patios such as arbors, trellis', arches, post, perennials/bulbs(bulb planter, planting auger). Now is a good time to purchase these items. There are a lot of bargins to be found.
This is a good time to plant for the early spring season growth.
We are adding new items as we they arrive. Come on in and check us out
